Weekend with the Wolves

I went to Yellowstone Park over the weekend of April 11-13 2008 in search of bears.  We saw no bears whatsoever, but were treated to many up close sightings of wolves, especially the Druid pack.  

This yearling was harassing the bison.  He bit the bison's tail about 3 times before the bison had enough.

When they took off in the morning, the noise was incredible and so were the sights!

The next two mornings, we were at the Whitewater Draw Wildlife Area, which is approximately 25 miles southeast of Tombstone. We were there before sun up. It is said that there were approximately 28 thousand Sandhill Cranes roosting there. They take off around sunrise to go out and feed for the day.
